Who We Are

The St. Mary’s County Family Violence Coordinating Council was created in 2006 to address intimate partner violence, domestic violence, and sexual violence within St. Mary’s County. We meet quarterly to discuss how we can best prevent family violence in our county as well as ways to mitigate the effects of family violence on our community. Today, the Council has sitting members from the Circuit Court of St. Mary’s County, the St. Mary’s County States Attorneys Office, Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy, the St. Mary’s County Commission for Women, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department, the Maryland State Police, the St. Mary’s County Department of Social Services, the Health Department, and MEDSTAR St. Mary’s.
